you would think....

That since I am laid off and have been since the first part of May I would be getting something fun done. But no, I am sooooo busy doing other stuff that I haven't even made a card or pulled out a stamp. I just realized that I am supposed to have posted the pictures from our april card swap... OOOPPPPPSSS I will do that now... Maybe.... Photoshop is open, we will see if I get around to it. I was supposed to have edited easter pictures too, but goodness I'm just not into much of anything recently. I am loving spending time with Sami. I am spending time with my parents out in the yard. Sami and I go on a bike ride everyday. It is so nice. Today we went on two bike rides. The first one we got "stuck" talking to our favorite neighbors. It was a blast. I helped Jane with her facebook page, and talked to Clarence about everyday things. The second bike ride we got a little further down the road. :) We actually made it to the end of the road and were on our way back when my Aunt's granddaughter (my cousin) was in the front yard playing with their puppy. So Sami and I stopped and we flew an elmo kite, played with Max and I talked to My cousin, my Aunt, and my great Aunt. It was a nice way to spend the day. Of course, by then it was lunch time so I came home and cooked for mom and dad. Then I cleaned up the kitchen. After cleaning up the kitchen I put Sami down for her nap. While she was napping I did the whole job hunting thing. When she got up I did the whole oh my gosh my room is a horrible mess I have to get it cleaned up thing. So now my room is a horribler (not a word) mess and I am sitting here typing nonsense. :) oh well. I am going to go edit some pictures, if I can find them. Then I have to decide what I am going to make for my 70's card swap tomorrow. Thank God it is close. :)

This is my desk with the top rolled up. I put my stamp pads and refills back in the desk along with the 48 cards I am making for my friends baby announcements.
This is the drawer of scraps of paper, large stickers, and templates. I figure they will be totally scattered if Sami sees them.
This is tub one of the stuff I took out of my desk.
This sat on the CPU shelf under the desk.
The rest of this stuff all came out of the desk somehow. Not really sure how I had room to stamp in the desk, but I did it somehow.
My desk is a source of "pride" in my life. I have always wanted a nice roll top desk for as long as I could remember. I have always said think of all the stuff I could hide in one of those desks if I had one.... Well I was right about one thing I can hide a lot of stuff in one. I finally finished my scrapbook room and so I cleaned out my desk so I could move it into the room. WOW. I have a lot of stuff. And that isn't near all of it. That is only the stampin up stuff not the creative memories or random things I have bought over the years. :) It is amazing, anyway my room is done, and I am waiting on my dad to recover from minor surgery so I can move the desk from the basement to my room. I'm thinkin maybe I need to call some guys over to help him. ;) anyway. This is the current state of my stamp life. Hopefully soon it will get fixed up again. I need some serious stress relief.

This roll top desk (which I think is awsome) is my previous stamp room. I stored a few cherished stamps in it. The rest of my stamps are two floors up, so Stamping for me has always been an excercise. If you look out the doorway, (ignore the junk please) You will see the new addition to the house. It is my stamp room and then through the second doorway you see my beedroom. We have been working on this for what seems like forever now. I am thankful that we have come this far. The last few weeks it seems to have come together much more quickly. Our contractor has a very good friend of ours dying so it is back to going slow again. I am thankful that the contractor is working on something so unimportant that he can take the time to spend with his close friend. He is a wonderful man to have working always happy and telling jokes or whatever needs to be done. He has even helped us fix things that have gone wrong with the original part of the house.
You would not think that a few pieces of plywood would be so difficult to move, but then they are in Dad and Marty's way and they are doing quite a bit of walking through there. So I spend my down time (I'm laid off for a week) hunting for neat things others have done, making new recipies, and playing with the princess. It is quite fun.

I seriously have not even touched my stamps for weeks. Goodness it has been almost a month since I have had any fun in my stamp desk. I have however finished the outside walls for my new stamp room, ran the electric, put up the drywall, installed the furnace/a/c, and bought the pink paint to paint the walls. (really I had a lot of help, i mostly cook lunch for the guys who do most of the work.) Right now I cannot even get to my stamp desk because plywood is piled up in front of it so deep. Tomorrow I am supposed to insulate my ceiling, and start hanging the drop ceiling, I will actually be able to help with that part of it. I also redesigned my scissor markers. I think I made them a lot better. We shall see though. I wish I had something nice and encouraging to post on here, but honestly I don't.
